Toilet Clogs

When faced with a clogged toilet, act quickly to prevent any flooding in your bathroom. The first step is to stop flushing the toilet and turn off the water valve behind the toilet to prevent additional water from entering the bowl.

Next, try using a plunger to dislodge the blockage. If that doesn't work, you can try using a plumbing snake to remove the obstruction.

Avoid using chemical drain cleaners as they can be harsh on your pipes and potentially cause damage.

Sink/Shower Clogs

Remove any visible debris or hair from the drain using a pair of gloves or a tool like needle-nose pliers. Next, try using a plunger to dislodge the blockage. If that doesn't work, you can try using a drain auger to remove the obstruction.

If you lose electrical power in your rental, the first step is to determine whether the other homes in your neighborhood have also lost power. If they have, it may be an issue with your local utility company, and you can contact them for assistance.

If it's only your home that has lost power, check your circuit breaker or fuse box to see if any circuits have tripped or blown. If that's the case, you can reset the breaker.
